Sr. Program Manager - IT PMO

Mounds View, Minnesota, US Full Time

We’re looking for a Sr. Program Manager to help drive complex technology initiatives from planning through delivery, with a focus on business-facing execution, cross-functional coordination, and strong program governance. This remote opportunity supports impactful enterprise work across data, systems, and process improvement in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program and project execution across multiple workstreams, from planning and design through testing, cutover, and hyper-care support.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, plans, budgets, and resource allocations to keep delivery on track.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party implementers to ensure milestones, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly managed.
  • Track program progress, identify risks and issues early, and escalate concerns when needed to support timely decision-making.
  • Communicate status, risks, and updates to executive stakeholders on a regular cadence.
  • Support delivery in a large enterprise environment with a focus on application and SDLC-related initiatives.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to translate priorities into actionable execution plans and status reporting.
  • Help ensure program activities align with established standards, policies, and governance expectations.
  • Contribute to lessons learned, quality reviews, and continuous improvement efforts across the program lifecycle.
  • Support achievement of key program outcomes and enterprise objectives.

Skills

  • Experience managing both programs and individual projects or workstreams.
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining detailed project schedules and plans.
  • Experience tracking project spend and financials.
  • Background in both waterfall and agile delivery methods, with waterfall as the primary approach.
  • Experience working within a large company or enterprise environment.
  • Application or SDLC project experience; infrastructure-only backgrounds are not a fit.
  • Experience with consulting organizations or consulting-style delivery environments.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to build clear, executive-ready presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a business-friendly way.
  • Completed four-year degree.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data-related projects.
  • ERP project experience, including master data or similar work.
  • PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with project and portfolio management methodologies.
  • Experience using PPM or reporting/dashboard tools.
  • Background in change management and risk management.
  • Strong leadership in matrixed environments and the ability to influence across teams.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach.
