As a member of the Product Operations Strategy team, the Senior Product Manager will support the development, implementation, and operational readiness of initiatives that advance UnitedHealthcare's Medicare Advantage plans and Government Programs priorities. This role represents Product Operations across cross-functional initiatives and helps ensure new product capabilities, payment card operations, and associated benefits and rewards are implemented effectively.
The Senior Product Manager partners with leaders, business stakeholders, technical teams, and peers to align expectations, define requirements, establish processes, and drive execution across complex Government Programs product initiatives. The role requires strong independent judgment, operational discipline, and the ability to translate product strategy into actionable implementation plans.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead operational readiness for new or expanded Medicare Advantage and Government Programs product capabilities, including onboarding, readiness planning, and go-live execution
- Influence solution design, prioritization, and sequencing by grounding product strategy in operational, regulatory, member, and market considerations
- Participate in project-based work across Product, Government Programs, technology, operations, and broader UHG functional areas
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Medicare Advantage product priorities with operational implications, partnering with business stakeholders to inform product direction and respond to product inquiries
- Own process and procedure definition for new Medicare Advantage product priorities, including associated operational support needs
- Define, document, and represent business and operational requirements for technical teams with clarity and authority
- Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams supporting payment cards, benefits, and rewards administration
- Translate technical concepts, application connections, and system dependencies into clear business-facing guidance that supports transparency and decision-making
- Support development of executive-facing presentations, product overview materials, and strategic communications
- Provide data-driven insights to support product development strategies through analytical, investigative, experimental, and other fact-finding work
- Own and evolve enterprise operating models that support Medicare Advantage product priorities, including plan eligibility, CMS program requirements, and downstream operational support
- Support development of emerging product operations talent through coaching, mentorship, and hands-on operating exposure

Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in healthcare operations, product operations, product enablement, enterprise strategy, or a related field
- Experience leading initiatives in highly regulated environments with significant execution, operational, or reputational risk
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid programs, including product design, eligibility, benefits administration, and operational or regulatory considerations that impact Government Programs execution
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive outcomes across matrixed organizations without direct authority
- Proven solid communication skills with the ability to align leaders, business partners, technical teams, and operational stakeholders around shared goals and execution plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing executive-facing materials, strategic presentations, or product overview communications
- Experience applying advanced analytical, strategic, and systems-thinking frameworks to complex operational challenges
- Experience translating enterprise strategy into executable operating models across multiple stakeholders
- Working knowledge of the annual Medicare product and bid planning process
- Proven exposure to large-scale transformation initiatives, operating model design, or enterprise capability development

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
